Predictions for the Florida Finals - 4.21.2018

So, the man has decided to predict all 4 mayor finals for this weekend. Well, maybe he was feeling bad for not predicting the semifinals, so here is something for everybody! May the best teams win!

Men's D2 Final - Boca Raton vs. Tridents

A rematch of last year's final, the regular season meeting between these two finished up as a 33-31 thriller, with the Bucs on top, and I expect this one to be close again. The Tridents started the season 4-0, then lost three straight, before winning their final two games. Influential #8 captain Hein Erasmus, who also captains the South side, is expected to be healthy for this final, after missing several games with a knee injury. Meanwhile, Boca, who sustained just one loss on the road to Tampa this season. will be without starting fly half Tristan Gray, who is out for the season due to injury. I think the Tridents will just have enough to repeat and advance to Souths.

Men's D3 Final - Gainesville vs. Palm Beach

The Hogs, last year's champions, return to the final to take on the undefeated Panthers, who won the regular season meeting 37-36 in Gator country. This game will be a battle of Gainesville's powerful pack against Palm Beach's speedy set of backs. Gainesville took a while to knock off Brevard in the semis, while Palm Beach handily dispatched Bay Area. I think the nice big field will suit the Panthers and their gam better than the Hogs.

Women's D2 Final - Orlando vs. Fort Miami

The matchup everyone expected here in the women's final, although Orlando barely edged out Jacksonville for the No. 2 seed. Fort Miami cruised through the regular season, with their match at Orlando the only close contest, with the visiting team winning 27-20. Fort Miami shouldn't have too much trouble in this one if they play to their potential, which is very high after their trip to the East championships last season.

Boys U19s Division 1 Final - Cardinal Gibbons vs. Jupiter

An intriguing matchup of Gibbons' power vs. the speed of Jupiter. The bigger field should suit the Sharks, who only lost 31-12 to Gibbons in their earlier playoff matchup. Gibbons have great talent throughout, however, and shouldn't have any complacency after almost being knocked off in the last round by Jacksonville Westside. This one will be close, but I think Gibbons win their second state title in three years.
Gibbons 27, Jupiter 24
