Level 1 Referee Course
Date: 11/4/2023
Introduction to officiating in a safe, competent and enjoyable way! This course is for people who wish to become Match Officials in local age-grade competitions and senior Rugby.
On successful completion of the course a match official will be able to demonstrate basic officiating skills based on appropriate theoretical knowledge and evidence of preparation and planning, and be able to officiate aspects of the game in a modified context.

Level 1 Coach Course (formerly L200)
Date: 10/7/2023
The Level 1 Coach Course (formerly L200) focuses on player welfare and the technical skills to play safely – specifically the tackle and the scrum. The course requires coaches to demonstrate effective coaching techniques, taught in the course including teaching through games, technical skill development through progressions, and collaborative coaching.
This course is suitable for all experience levels and will likely comprise a mix of veteran players/coaches and those new to the game – all benefitting from a free exchange of ideas/experience.

Referee Training and Development:-

In general, the Training and Development concept will take more of a practical nature, allowing us to drill, discuss and practice in plenum some of the arts of refereeing skills with referees of all levels in one place. Obviously, these sessions are not mandatory, at the moment, however we would encourage participation by all so we can perform equally and align basic calls and interpretations where possible. Therefore, the message is try and make 2 sessions a year, one in the 1st half and 1 in the second, at least.

Born and raised with a rugby ball in hand in his native Island of Fiji, Phillippe "Fiji" Leka came to America and passed on a love, knowledge, and passion for the sport that we as Americans hadn't possessed. He leaves behind a beautiful wife and now 4 year old daughter to whom all the proceeds will go to.

Palm Beach Rugby Jamboree

PLEASE NOTE. ALL PLAYERS MUST BE CIPP REGISTERED TO PLAY.
ATTACHED PLEASE FIND THE GAME SCHEDULE.
Each Team will play each other in 20 minute intervals during the jamboree. Throughout the day, Teams can adjust their sides to various levels of competition that they will be playing. There will be 2 fields active at all times.
There will be a 20 minute break and an assigned Referee will discuss law changes and adjustments Team's should be making in preparation for the upcoming season.
There will be a brief testimonial of how the new USA Rugby medical insurance program has worked out for a couple of situations within one of our Clubs.
In order to cover Referees, field costs, participation plaques and the party at Pirates Well we are charging $120.00 per Team. Palm Beach will not be retaining any money. Any excess will go towards the party.
MONEY IS DUE FROM EACH TEAM PRIOR TO PLAYING.
The Jamboree is scheduled for 2 PM and will last about 3 hours. Please have your Team ready to start at 2 PM sharp.
