Jacksonville Axe men RLFC competes in the a National Rugby League Competition which commences in June. Axe Men have put the challenge to the Florida Men's Select Side for the "Clash of the Codes Cup". This is the first time the two teams will meet with half the game competing in Rugby League and half Rugby Union. This makes for exciting spectators sport to watch, Rugby League, no line outs, no full scrums, 6 men scrums only with no break-always, only 13 player per side unlike 15 for Union and you have only 5 chances to use the ball no pod running or phases of break downs a little like "Touch" a little like Football but everything like Rugby Union. The Axe men will have anything between 500-1500 spectators at home game with the population for the sport growing every year. Ricky Brown from Jaxsonville Former Axe Men and now Assistant Coach to the FRU Men's Select Side has been working to get this up and running for the last two years and all his hard work has paid off with the Inaugural Clash of the Codes set down for Saturday May the 18th 2013 in Jaxsonville.
