It has been a great season for High School Rugby in Florida. There have been some ups and downs and we lost several school based programs over the years. But the HS and youth games in our state have never been stronger. The future is exciting as more and more coaches get involved to bring the game to more and more young men and women.

It has been a great season for High School Rugby in Florida. There have been some ups and downs and we lost several school based programs over the years. But the HS and youth games in our state have never been stronger. The future is exciting as more and more coaches get involved to bring the game to more and more young men and women. This is the last week of the regular season and with all of the game data and spy reports emailed in from the field, Swami has more data than ever making this weeks’ picks easier than ever. Season record right at 75% correct. It has been a delight to write about this competition. Swami reminds everyone that the purpose of these predictions is to get more people talking and interested in our game. Who else is excited about the playoffs?? Email me at swami@rugbyfl.com SWAMI GAME OF THE WEEK: Cape Pirates - Orlando HS This one will be a doozy. Both teams are playing for seeding in the playoffs. Both teams are well coached. Both have all-star players. Both have good numbers. Both are playing with passion. Orlando is ahead in the standings but Swami sees Cape pulling this one out. Pirates 22 Daytona 20. Jupiter Sharks Rugby - Miami Rugby HS Miami has played well in a few games this season and been embarrassed in others. If this was a home game for them, it would be an upset candidate. Jupiter has been solid and finishes with a win. Same score as their first game: Jupiter 20 Miami 7 Tampa Krewe HS - Daytona U19 Krewe at home and another upset candidate. Maybe if it rains like it did for their game vs Riviera a few weeks ago they will have a chance against Daytona. Swami sees the track being hard and fast. Daytona 44 Krewe 12. Key Biscayne Rats HS - Naples Bears - HS Rats are 4-1 (according to the OFFICIAL Florida Youth Website) and Naples are unbeaten. Swami sees them having no problem pulling away in the second half. Naples 33 Key Biscayne 19 Boca Raton HS - Mavericks RFC An evenly matched game and both sides will be very motivated to finish the season with a win. Boca takes this one on the strength of their numbers. Boca 18 Mavericks 12. Riviera Beach HS - St. Thomas Aquinas Rugby Swami thinks this game will be more of a track meet than a rugby match. Riviera 101 Aquinas 3 Cardinal Gibbons HS - Trojans U19 Big time rivalry brewing between the Trojans and Cardinal. Neither is at the top of the table this year but this game will be a good one. Swami sees CG coming out on top by a try at the final whistle. Gibbons 13 Trojans 8.
