Like Naples and Miami, I got my season off to a good start last week, going 2-1, with only the Hammerheads ruining my perfect Saturday. Krewe did look a little rough at times during All-Florida Weekend, and I guess I should have taken that a little more into account.
Still, it's early, and both myself and the 2010 Division Two national champions have plenty of time to bounce back, starting with this weekend.

Krewe (0-1) at Miami Tridents (1-0) - Two teams
coming off very different opening results meet in South Florida. Krewe have a
long way to travel, and the Tridents are never easy to beat on their home turf,
especially when they're in good spirits after something like a 27-point road
victory like they had last Saturday in Orlando. The home team rolls in this
one. Tridents 35, Krewe 15 Result: Tridents 28, Krewe 15 Naples (1-0) at Miami RFC (1-0) - Miami took care of
Boca Raton in the rain last week, and will be looking to make a big statement
in this game to let everyone else know that they are truly back to the
Bumblebees of old. Naples knocked off Krewe and will also be seeking to make a
point that they are still the team to beat in Florida D2. I'm leaning towards
the Dade teams going 2-0, so... Miami 28, Naples 22 Result: Miami 44, Naples 12 Orlando (0-1) at Daytona (0-0) - Orlando struggled at
AFW and things got even worse last Saturday when they were soundly dispatched
by the visiting Tridents. Daytona, meanwhile, battled well in Tavares despite a
rag-tag squad, and are opening their matrix season here. The Coconuts will be
trying to prove they're more than just a sevens side, and while they still have
a long way to get there and contend for a D2 postseason spot, I think they'll
have enough to edge the visitors in this one. Daytona 20, Orlando 17 Result: Daytona 17, Orlando 23 Boca Raton (0-1) at Fort Lauderdale (0-0) - While the
Buccaneers may have opened their season with a disappointing home loss to
Miami, they can get some mojo back in this contest which ranks as one of the
biggest and longest true rivalries in Florida rugby. The Knights went up to the
Battleship Tournament last weekend and reached the championship game, where
they fell heavily to New Orleans. I think that trip and the three games in two
days might come back to haunt Lauderdale in this battle, and the Bucs
are angry. Boca Raton 31, Fort Lauderdale 21 Result: Boca Raton 16, Fort Lauderdale 25 Last Week and Season: 2-1 (.667) All-time: 51-19 (.729)
