The
Florida Atlantic University men's rugby team is seeking a head coach to help
lead a 25-year-old program to its first national championship. The
Owls plan to compete in the South Independent Rugby Championship at the I-AA
level in 2014-15. Candidates
should have coaching experience and, at minimum, their Level 100 USA Rugby
Coaching Certification. Level 200 and above would be preferable, however. Key
responsibilities will include: -
Effectively managing a squad of rugby players with varying rugby knowledge
levels and skills by teaching safe and proper
technique to beginning level players while challenging and integrating the
skills of higher-level players. -
Planning and delivering effective coaching sessions, a minimum of two nights a
week -
Overseeing all game day preparation and activities -
Leading strength and conditioning programs, as appropriate -
Communicating regularly with the university's club program, as well as the
Alumni Foundation board of directors At
this time, this position is a voluntary one, but the Alumni Foundation Board is
committed to providing a monthly stipend at some point in the near future. To
