About Serevi Coaching Clinic

Serevi Rugby® is thrilled to hold a coaching course designed specifically for coaches of female athletes. The course will focus on best practices for developing female players, with a particular emphasis on XVs form of the game. The course will be held in Orlando, Florida. Immediately following the course will be a three-hour female players camp.

Course Description

This Coaching Course -- specifically designed for those who coach female athletes -- will be led by National Title Winning coach Evan Haigh. Evan is the current head coach of the Seattle Women's club and coaches women as part of the Serevi Rugby Academy in Seattle. Previously he coached the Seattle OPSB Rugby Super League men's team to three consective finals appearences and the 2010 National Sevens Championship.

This course -- applicable to coaches of all levels -- covers essential core coaching skills while skewing towards the XVs format and folding in helpful hints about how best to convey information and course correct when dealing with female athletes. All coaches will recieve 5 USA Rugby PDCs after completion of the course.

The curriculum will focus on core rugby skills, specifically in the areas of:

Technique indicators and fixes
Drill flow/progression
Conditioning and fitness

Technical focus will be around ruck accuracy, catch/ball transfer, spatial awareness, communication and the ability to progress isolated drills into increased pressure game-like scenarios.

We're excited to share what we've learned and can't wait to see you there!
