Florida Rugby Union Competition Standings
In order to determine the seeding for playoffs from pool play, state championships when there are no playoffs, or advancement/winner of the league when there is no playoff or championship match/es, the following system will be used:
1. Win/Loss Record
2. If two clubs are tied in win/loss record:
a. Head to head win/loss record against each other
b. Head to head points differential
c. Head to head total try differential (tries for less tries against)
3. In case of a 3 way tie or criteria #2 still resulting in a tie, then points scored against the club by common opponents excluding forfeits will be used. The club which has had the fewest points scored against them will advance.
4. In case there is still a tie, then the average number of tries will be used (tries for less tries against) against common opponents excluding forfeits.
5. Toss of a coin
There are no bonus points in this system for scoring more than 4 tries or a differential of less than 9, as this is built into the tie-breakers. Win/Loss should be the primary determining factor for the season. This will be reflected in Rugby Xplorer for the win/loss record and tie breakers will be calculated by the divisional VPs if needed.
Lady Hammerheads are officially a D3 status team and will not participate in the D2 progression to regionals. |
